Inkle Loom Weaving Basics
Inkle loom weaving is a warp faced weaving structure that requires the use of a special type of loom that uses hand made heddles of string. It is versatile, and yet simple to use. All kinds of decorative ribbons and bands can be made!
Supplies to bring to class:
An inkle loom (preferably full size), 2 clamps for the table, shuttle
scissors, notebook, paper, pencil, colored pencils
graph paper for inkle design can be downloaded <HERE>
YARN:
My favorite yarn to use is 5/2 coned cotton. If you do not have that, I recommend "Aunt Lydia's" classic crochet thread Size 5 or 3 for this beginning project. If you can't find either, size 10 will do, but it will be small. Choose two colors of good contrast!
